We're here and hanging out in the front row at Sony's CES 2012 press event. Music: a lady folk musician singing "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love." It's romantic.

There's already so much going on I'm forgetting to dance to these jams. This song is about being someone's boyfriend, or wanting to be someone's boyfriend.
And now "Raise Your Glass" by Pink. Sony wants us to party, and then feel sad, and then party again. Real yo-yo of emotions here.
Do they make melancholy party songs?
So Sony's reconfigured its entire booth this year — it's much more open, with long tables of gear culminating in the event stage. It's much nicer than the old layout.
And now Miranda Lambert. She really misses someone. She'll be okay.
Oh, and
here's the Xperia Ion, which was announced earlier for AT&T.
Staying downtempo now with Manchester Orchestra. Love is so bittersweet.
We're being told things will kick off in just about 10 minutes. The music is boppy again. We're done crying in the bathroom, and we're ready to dance.
Wait. It's Daughtry now. This party just got super dramatic.
Also, we're told this is kicking off in 5 minutes.
And now we're starting in one minutes. Everyone is being told to put on their 3D glasses. Yep, it's the Sony CES press event.
And here we go. There are color bars. They are moving. Pianos are tinkling.
A field of squares is turning into video screens. They are flying.
The VAIO Z series turned into a DSLR. A woman is surprised. There is dancing. Now a fish is eating us. Avril Lavigne doesn't care. The PS VITA is now flying.
It's hard to explain this in any other way.
A song that is not Firestarter by the Prodigy is playing, but it'a almost Firestarter by The Prodigy.
There is rumbling. A woman jumps off a building and turns into Spider-Man. Will Smith says "Don't even worry about it."
Pianos tinkle, and Sir Howard Stringer is out!
"That video was a perfect example of Sony at best. Sony creates and delivers more entertainment experiences to more people than anyone. That's not just my usual hyperbole. We can all count."
"Our movies and TV shows reach more than a billion people worldwide, and in the US people listen to 60 billion hours of Sony Music."
Over the next three years, Sony will deliver 300 million connected entertainment devices.
"From TV in your palm to professional photography in your pocket, Sony is delivering a new world we only dreamed about a few years ago."
"Without a software / hardware marriage, Sony would be childless. Our newest progeny is the smartphone."
Also: Sir Howard calls it the "VAIO Zed."
Showing a Mossberg review of the Tablet S. "Even his holiness appears to be a fan."
