We'll be liveblogging the Nook event right here on November 7th at 10:00AM EST / 7:00AM PST.
And we're in!
It's quite a different atmosphere in here than the Amazon Fire launch. The press are slowly flowing in as some sort of music plays.
I'd also like to mention that I am quite happy with the temperature in here. Unlike the Rezound event last week, I'm not freezing to death and I don't feel the need to fire up Flash videos to warm my laptop. Nice work, B&N!
Okay, the seats are filling up now. The first four rows are reserved for Barnes & Noble executives. Not fair!
Okay, we're being told to mute "all cellphones and personal data devices."
The lights have been dimmed. "The program is about to begin.
"

Lacking anything else to snap a picture of, here's Welcome sign number three.
B&N CEO William Lynch is out!
"
2011 was our second full year selling digital content. No company grew faster selling digital content this year than B&N."
"27 percent of the ebooks sold are through B&N."
Talking about the Simple Touch. "It became the first breakthrough product in the e-paper category."
Talking about the Nook Color now. "No one thought a color e-reader could work."
"We've sold millions."
Talking about how they've added apps, magazines, Flash to the browser...
"Number two selling tablet in the US, behind only the iPad"
Today they are introducing an extension of that product!
Here we go...
"Most visually appealing HD viewing experience"
The Nook Tablet!
Looks exactly like the Nook Color, at least from where I am sitting.
Showing a video now of the tablet. Lots of videos playing on its screen.
Comic books. Millions of songs.
1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, under a pound.
Lots of cheers for the Tablet!
He's holding one up now.
Either the screen is absolutely amazing or there's just a sticker on it.
Ah, it has an IPS display. LG display. "Vivid View.
"
Lowest reflection and glare and enables unprecedented
viewing angles.
